We Were Both Wrong
'We Were Both Wrong' examines how modernism has morphed into capitalism or maybe how socialist ideologies have been turned into private property. Images and video footage that have been amassed over a 5 year period are brought together to form a new moving image work. Consisting of a single channel video projection that examines how the aesthetics of the built environment have been shaped by political ideologies and the subsequent rapid growth of late capitalism. Accompanying the projection is a video diary / episodic work made to document Smith's navigation through London via private properties cut with his internal narration and dreamlike sequences.
